Beautiful Autumn day to watch the RAAF planes bicentennial flyover!
Mmm, cheese. Mmm, wine. Mmmmmmm, cheese and wine. *Insert Homer Simpson-like drool here*
Just when you thought Eveleigh Farmers Markets couldn’t get any more delectable, they go and announce their first ever Wine and Cheese Fair - Eveleigh Uncorked!
Why travel to Orange, Mudgee and the infamous Hunter Valley when you can have all of their goodies come to you in the one place, on the same day? On Sunday 16th June, the historic Blacksmith Workshop will transport you to fine foodie heaven. If you know a thing or two about fine foods (we do, or at least like to think we do) then you know that treats like these usually come with some complimenting accompaniments.
So even if you’re not there for the cheese and wine (ha!), then surely you’ll show up for artisan butter, crusty sourdough bread, marinated olives or tapenades that will be available for tasting on the day. Showcasing boutique wineries from across the state, not only can you leave with copious amounts of red and whites, you can justify it all in the name of promoting tourism in regional NSW! It’s a win/win situation for all involved.
In our more serious, end of article tone, this really is a fantastic opportunity for you to experience the latest tastes that aren’t available in your Dan Murphy’s and gain an in-depth understanding of the cheese and wine making processes. You can meet the makers of your Saturday night happy juice and if you’ve had one too many taste testers, there will be a variety of delish food and coffee to counterbalance the effects!
What: Eveleigh Uncorked - Eveleigh Market’s first Wine and Cheese Fair
Where: Eveleigh Market, 243 Wilson Street, Darlington, Carriage Works
When: Sunday 16th June, 10am - 4pm
More Info: Eveleigh Markets

Ahh Sydney. Sweet, seductive, soulful, sexy Sydney - It’s the city we live in and we love. The best city in Australia, nay, the world!

If Instagram is just not scratching your photographic itch like it used to and you get the same tingly feeling of pride we do when talking about our glorious hometown, why not show it in this year’s Art & About photographic competitions?
The annual Sydney Life and Little Sydney Lives competitions are currently taking submissions for their 2013 showcases and are a fantastic opportunity to let out your inner Annie Leibovitz.
You needn’t be a pro, these competitions are designed to capture everyday Sydney in its essence and who better to do so then those who live, eat and breathe it? (That’s you guys, in case you didn’t pick up on it)
The judging panel are searching for a unique Sydney inspired idea or observation in photographic format, if you were looking for a creative outlet but not sure where to start, Sydney Lives may be what you’ve been looking for.
Not interested but know a mini person who is? Get them happy snapping and submit on their behalf. Little Sydney Lives is for 3-11 year olds. The simplicity and innocence in which children interpret Sydney is what makes their submissions just as beautiful as their older counterparts.
If you’re keen to show off what you love most about our great harbour city then it’s time to get your cameras out and your submissions in!
